Thomas Talbot & Others, Missouri.

On the night of October 12, 1827, at a place about twenty-five miles west of the Pawnee fork of the Arkansas river. While encamp by the public road on their way back from Santa Fe. To Missouri. Thomas Talbot, Elisha Stanley, William Wolfskill, James Collins, Edwin M. Ryland, James Fielding, and Solomon Houck, who were retuning with a numerous stock of horses, mules, and asses, were wantonly attacked and the greater part of their stock was taken from them by a body of Indians.

A few years later, Edwin M. Ryland was to be come the receiver of public moneys for the district of land subject to sale at Lexington, in the State of Missouri, from the 21st instant, 1833. In 1840 he was superseded.
