Ohio 83rd., Infantry.

Company A.

Robert Cox, Corporal, Agr 38, Enlisted August 6, 1862, for 3 years.  Appointed Corporal November 16, 1862.  Died April 7, 1863, on Hospital Steamer D. A. January.

William Hogan, Private, Age 44, Enlisted July 28, 1862, for 3 years.  Discharged August 3, 1863 at Vicsburg, Mississippi, on Surgeon's Certificate of disability.  Died August 14, 1863, on hospital steamer Charles McDougall, while enroute home.  Buried Memphis, Tennessee.

James Reynolds, Private, Age 32, Enlisted August 9, 1862, for 3 years.  Died April 21, 1863, on hospital steamer Nashville, near Vicksburg, Mississippi.

James J. Shannon, Corporal, Age 18, Enlisted July 23, 1862, for 3 years.  Appointed Corporal August 29, 1862.  Died January 19, 1863, on U. S. hospital steamer D. A. January, of wounds received January 11, 1863, in battle of Arkansas Post, Arkansas.
 
John G. Harrington, Private, Age 18, Enlisted August 9, 1862, for 3 years.  Died January 3, 1863, on steamer Citizen on the Mississippi river near Milligan Landing, Mississippi.  Buried Vicksburg, Mississippi.
 
John W. Wallace, Private, Age ?, Enlisted August 11, 1862, for 3 years.  Died January 23, 1863 on steamer Citizen on Mississippi river opposite the mouth of Yazoo river.

Oscar P. Richey, Private, Age 29, Enlisted August 13, 1862, for 3 years.  Died March 8, 1863, on steamer D. A. January.

James Huff, Private, Age 52, Enlisted August 8, 1862, for 3 years.  Also borne on rolls as James Hough.  Died January 29, 1863, on steamer Citizen of wounds received in action.  Buried Vicksburg, Mississippi.
 
Isaiah Thompson, Private, Age 28, Enlisted August 11, 1862, for 3 years.  Appointed Sergeant August 22, 1863, Reduced in rank.  Died January 17, 1853, on steamer Citizen near Milliken's Bend, La.
