Four men of the 83rd., New York Infantry.

At 4 o'clock on July 4, 1861, these men were in a fight at Harper's Ferry.

BANKS, JOHN EARLE.—Age, 24 years. Enlisted at New York city, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. G, May 27, 1861; killed in action, July 1,1861, at Harpers Ferry, West
Va.. Official Records; John Earle Banks, Company G., shot through the breast, died while being removed from the field.

GEDEICKE, ERNEST.—Age, 31 years. Enlisted at New York city, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. A, May 27, 1861; killed in action, July 1, 1861, at Harpers Ferry, Va.
Official Record; Ernest Gedricke, Company A., shot through the abdomen supposed to be mortally wounded.

WILLIAMSON, HENRY V.—Age, 22 years. Enrolled at NewYork city, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. G, May 27, 1861; wounded in action, July 1, 1861, at Harpers Ferry, Va.; promoted sergeant, Co. L, September 1, 1861; first sergeant, January 21, 1862; mustered in as second lieutenant, July 21, 1862; as captain, September 21, 1862; as major, March 21, 1863; mustered out with regiment, June 23, 1861, at New York city. Commissioned second lieutenant, August 30, 1862, with rank from June 21, 1862, vice A. B. Stiles promoted; captain, December 18, 1862, with rank from September 20, 1862, vice E. R. Miller discharged; major, October 7, 1863, with rank from March 20, 1863, vice D. W. Diggs resigned.  Official Record; Henry V. Williamson, Company G., shot through the leg, severely wounded, but will probably recover.

WARNER, FREDERICK R—Age, 34 years. Enlisted at New York city, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. C, May 27, 1861; wounded in action, July 4, 1861, at Harpers Ferry, Va.; discharged for disability, June 14, 1862;.subsequent service as second lieutenant, Twenty-eighth Connecticut Infantry.  Official record; Fred. R. Warner, Company C., shot through the leg, slightly wounded. Connecticut State Records; Frederick R. Warner enlisted as second Lieutenant in Company A, Connecticut 28th., infantry, August 25, 1862, mustered in November 18, 1862, appointed Adjutant February 20, 1863, mustered out August 28, 1863.
