Saloon Owners Of Leavenworth, Kansas, 1857-1867.

Two things comes to mind when we talk about the old west, Cowboys and the Saloons.  Most people think All the old west towns of Kansas had saloons this can be blamed on television shows and the movies.

In truth many Kansas towns had no saloons at all.  A small town may have one or two saloon. The larger Kansas town may have so many saloons that they almost out number the businesses of the town. Take Leavenworth Kansas, not to be confused with ( Fort Leavenworth ), in a span of ten years it had 52, saloons.

I have listed the 52 owners, in a lot of cases there are no first names just the last.  No names of the saloon is given.
