D, August 25, 1861, to serve three years; mustered in as captain, December 9, 1861; as major, February 7, 1863; wounded and captured at Ashland, Va., June 1,1864; mustered in as colonel, December 19, 1864; mustered out with regiment, July 19, 1865, at Winchester, Va. Commissioned first lieutenant, December 4, 1861, to rank from October 1, 1861, original; captain, February 24, 1862, to rank from December 9, 1861; vice Coyle, died; major, February 5, 1863, to rank from February 2, 1863, vice Pratt, resigned; lieutenant-colonel, October 12, 1864, to rank from September 15,1864, vice Bacon, resigned; colonel, November 14, 1864, to rank from November 14, 1864, vice Hammond, term of service expired.
