Ezra W. McOmber.

McOmber, George A. Resides at Gage, Oklahoma. Was County Sheriff of O’Brien County in 1871, and is said to have been a soldier in the Civil War, serving in the Union Army. A  brother of Ezra W. McOmber next below.

McOmber, Ezra W. Resides at Primghar, Iowa; born February 12, 1839, at Providence, near Saratoga, New York; father, Joseph McOmber (born in 1805 in Saratoga County, New York), mother, Betsey Austin (born in 1806 in Saratoga County). Married Anna Maria Gould December 15, 1864; children: Margaret, Samuel, Adrian.

Enlisted September 1,1862, at Saratoga, New York, in Company A, Seventy-seventh New York Infantry, Third Brigade, Second Division, Sixth Army Corps; wounded at Antietam, September 17,1862; served in battles of Culpepper Court House, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Second Battle of Bull Run; wounded at Gettysburg, July 2, 1863; was discharged from McDougal Hospital, New York, on account of his wounds, December 14, 1863. Settled in this county March 19, 1869, homesteading land on section 12, Waterman Township; has  resided in county continuously since. Died January 25, 1909, and was buried at Primghar; was serving as commander of  S. F. Jordan Post, No. 417, G. A. R., at Primghar, when he  died.

McOMBER, EZRA W—Age, 23 years. Enlisted, September 1, 1862, at Galway, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. A, September 18, 1862; wounded in action, July 2, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pa.; discharged for wounds, December 11,1863, at McDougal General Hospital, Fort Schuyler, New York Harbor; also borne as McComber.
