Heirs From The Pension Rolls Of Maine Page 2.

This is page two of the pension rolls of Maine. This list is of the heirs of non-commissioned officers and privates who obtained five year's half-pay in lieu of bounty land. Lincoln County.

Samuel Cratin or Craighton and Creighton
1771 (?)-1814

Note: As you can see there are a lot ways to spell this name also some records state that he died in 1832. However the pension rolls say 1814, this name needs more research.

Samuel Cratin was a private in the 9th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Sept. 23, 1819, commencement of pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Susannah ( Davis ) Cratin ? in 1798 ? His heirs were James, Henry, William, Jane and Eunice Cratin. His father was David Cratin ? and his mother was Mary ( Gamble ) Cratin? Samuel died on Jan. 23, 1814.

Patrick Dorsey
???-1815

Patrick was a private in the 45th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Feb. 12, 1817, commencement of his pension was Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Fe. 17, 1820. His heirs were Honour, John, Margaret, Mary and Catharine Dorsey. Patrik died on Jan. 7, 1815.

Elijah Douglass
???-1813

Elijah was a private in the 9th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars, he was placed on the pension rolls on Aug. 3, 1818, commencement of his pension was Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Abigail, Jane and Elijah Douglass. Elijah died in December of 1813.

Nathan Eaton
???-1814

Nathan was a private in the 45th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on March 5, 1818, commencement of pension Feb. 17, 1815, ending of pension Feb. 17, 1820. He married Eunice ( Watson ) Eaton in 1810. His heirs were Nathan, Betsey and Ruth Eaton. Nathan died on Dec. 26, 1814.

Note: The pay for a Private was $4.00 dollars per month and for a Corporal $5.00 and a Sergeant $5. 50 dollars per month and Dummer $4.50 per month.

John was a private in the 45th. regement infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on May 4, 1818, commencement of his pension was Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 182o. His heirs were Abigail, Lavinia, Hiram, Isaac, Mary and Samuel Could. John died on Nov. 23, 1814.

John Gordon Jr.
???-1815

John was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on May 4, 1818, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Justin, John and Josiah Gordon. John died on Marh 15, 1815.

William Gordon

William was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry his allowance was $48. dollars a year he received $240 dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on July 31, 1818, commencement of his pension was Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Freelove, Alfred, Hugh, Elizabeth and Jane Gordon. William died on March 15, 1815.

Simeon Jones

Simeon was a corporal in the 9th. regiment infantray, his alowance was $60. dollars a year he had received $330. dollars, he was placed on the pension rolls on Aug. 4, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Jane ( Hatch ) Jones in 1808, his heirs were Arthur, Richard, Enoch and Simeon. Simeon died on June 17, 1813.

Archiblad McAllister
???-1813

Archiblad was a private in the 4th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year, he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on May 1, 1818, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Ruth, Ann, Hiram or Hirum, Sally, and Rosanna McAllister. Archiblad died on Nov. 30, 1813.

James Macumber
1782-1814

James was a corporal in the 33rd. regiment infantry, his allowance was $60. dollars a year he had received $300. dollars, he was placed on the pension rolls on Aug. 4, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Mary ( Marson ) Macumber in 1805. His heirs were Abne, Conrad, Sophronia, Joseph, Pitts, Gideon, and James Macumber. James died on May 10, 1814.

James Morton

James was a private in the 45th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars, he was placed on the pension rolls on Aug. 4, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Magnes, Susanna, Priscilla, Mary, Elizabeth and Hannah Morton. James died on Dec. 17, 1814.

His heirs were William C., John, David P., Elizabeth and Sarah Oldes. John died on Jan. 14, 1815.

Jon'n was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Aug. 22, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his penion was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Abigil H., Elisha, Lucy H., Almari and Phoebe Philbrook. Jon'n died on Dec. 1, 1814.

His heirs were Charles, Mary, Leonard and Sally Tarr. William died on June 8, 1813.

Wait was a private in the 45th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had recived $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on June29, 1818, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heir was Mary Weeks. Wait died on Nov. 25, 1814.

Samuel Boynton

Samuel was a private in the Corps Artillery, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240 dollars, he was placed on the pension rolls on Feb. 13, 1818, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Phebee ( Blake ) Boynton in 1804. His heirs were Jane, Royal and Roxanna Boynton. Samuel died on Sept. 7, 1814.

Samuel Carpenter
1787-1813

Samuel was a private in the 11th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Sept. 29, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Betsey ( Stevens ) Carpenter about 1808. His heirs were Eliza and Albion Carpenter. His father was Benjamin Carpenter and his mother was Sophia (?) Carpenter. Samuel died on Dec. 19, 1813.

Calvin Crooker
???-1814

Calvin was a private in the 9th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Jan. 9, 1824, commencement of his pension was on Oct. 17, 1818, ending ofhis pension was on Oct. 17, 1823. His heirs were Doras, Deborah, Rhoda and Calvin Crooker. Calvin died on Feb. 8, 1814.

Ezekiel Duston or Dustin ?
1776-1814

Ezkiel was a private in the 9th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars, he was placed on the pension rolls on Feb. 17, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His wife was Ruth ( York ) Duston or Dustin. His heirs were John, York, Perigrine, Chandler R., Hannah, Leander G. and Ezekiel W. Duston or Dustin. His father was Jesse Duston or Dustin and his mother was Elizabeth ( Swan ) Duston or Dustin. Ezekiel died on Jan. 2, 1814.

Thomas Eustis
1777-1813

Thomas was a private in the 3rd. regiment infantry, his allowance was $54. dollars a year he had received $270. dollars, he was placed on the pension rolls on Feb. 17, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Hannah ( Graham ) Eustis. His heirs were Minerva, Hannah, Mary, Cyprus, Thomas and John C. Eustis. His father was Chamberlain Eustis and his mother was Sarah ( Buckminester ) Eustis. Thomas died in Sept. 1813.

Note. Many of the names on pages 1 & 2 had more heirs but I will only list those on the pension rolls.

William Healy
???-1814

William was a private in the 11th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240 dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on April 11, 1821, commencement of his pension was on Jan. 2, 1821, ending of his pension was on Jan. 2, 1826. His heirs were Sally and Mehitable Healy. William died on Dec. 6, 1814.

Joseph Levett or Leavitt
1746-1813

Joseph ws a private in the 9th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he was placed on the pension rolls on Feb. 5, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. he married Lois (?) Levett or Leavitt in 1804. His heirs were Jonathan, Elijah, Abigail, Samuel and Sarah Levett or Leavitt. His father was Samuel Leavitt or Levett and his mother was Ruth ( Johnson ) Leavitt or Levett. Joseph died in July of 1813.

Marshall Lewis
???-1814

Marshall was a private in the Corps Artillery, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Feb. 21, 1820, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Sally, Alexander, Olive, Abigail, Hannah and Daniel Lewis. Marshall died on Dec. 6, 1814.

Sol'n. or Solomon Messowcy
???-1815

Solomon was private in the 45th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. he was placed on the pension rolls on Feb. 17, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension wa on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Charles, Harriet and Robert Messowcy. Solomon died on March 10, 1815.

John McLaughlin
1765-1814

John was a private in the 45th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Jan. 6, 1818, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Bethiah ( Wilkins ) in 1785. His heirs were James, Phineas, Amasa, Benjamin and Hiram McLaughlin. John died on Oct. 13, 1814.

Joseph Mitchell

Joseph was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he was placed on the pension rolls on June 29, 1818, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His wife could have been Hannah ( Dillingham ) Mitchell? His heirs were Almira, Arthur, Emily, Joseph, Edward and Alfred Mitchell. Joseph died on June 10, 1813.

Josiah Smith

Josiah was a corporal in the 21st. regiment infantry, his allowance was $60. dollars a year he had received $3oo. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Dec. 14, 1816, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. Josiah died on Nov. 11, 1813.

Jesse Wright

Jesse was a private in the 9th. regiment infantry, he was placed on the pension rolls on Nov. 13, 1813, commencement of his pension was on Nov. 1, 1820, ending of his pension was on Nov. 1, 1825. His wife's name was Sarah (?) Wright. His heirs were Jesse, Daniel, Lang, Abel and David Wright. Jesse died on Nov. 23, 1813.

Amos Heath
???-1814

Amos was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry, he was placed on the pension rolls on Oct. 6, 1819, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. His heirs were Eunice, John and Sally Heath. Amos died on Jan. 8, 1814.

William Lancaster
1763-1815

William was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry, he was placed on the pension rolls on June 20, 1821, commencement of his pension was on March 19, 1821, March 19, 1826. He married Sally ( Porter ) Lancaster in the year of 1786. His heirs were Mary, Thomas, Catharine Lancaster. His father was Elihu Lancaster and his mother was Mary (?) Lancaster. William died on Jan. 15, 1815.

Amos Baker
1764-1814

Amos was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry, he was placed on the pension rolls on Nov. 13, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1920. His heirs were Henry K., Mary, Delia and Joseph Baker. Amos died on Oct 7, 1814.
Note. Some say he married Elizabeth or Betsey Weston and others say Betsey Wlaker, in 1806. This name needs more research.

Benjamin Church
???-1813

Benjamin was a private in the 21st. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Jan. 26, 1820, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Martha ( Nute ) Church. His heirs were Harriet, Greenleaf, Drnsilla, Polly and Abigail Church. Benjamin died in Sept. 1813.

Joseph littlefield

Joseph was a private in the 9th. regiment infantry, his allowance was $48. dollars a year he had received $240. dollars he was placed on the pension rolls on Dec. 17, 1817, commencement of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of his pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Mary or Polly ( Savage ) Littlefield in 1805. His heirs were Susanna and Eleanor Littlefield. Joseph died on Dec. 5, 1813.

Benjamin Clark was born on June 23, 1781, at Gorham, Maine. He married Judith Stinchfield about 1801, their children were: Thankfu, Sally, Rebecca and Mark Fernald Clark. His father was Benjamin Clark and his mother was Sarah Jordan. His wife's father was Ephraim Stinchfield and her mother was Sarah Herring.

Daniel was a Artificer in the 3rd. regiment Artillery, His allowance was $78. dollars a year and he had received $390. dllars, was placed on pension rolls on Feb. 17, 1817, Commencement of pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, enging of pension was on Feb, 17, 1820. His children were Ebenezer, Daniel and Hannah Hall. Daniel died on Dec. 15, 1813.

Humphrey Libby ( Libbee )

Humphrey was a private in the Corps Artillery, his allowance was $48. dollars a year and had received $240. dollars, placed on pension rolls on June 6, 1818, commencement of pension was on Feb. 17, 1815, ending of pension was on Feb. 17, 1820. He married Keziah ( Meserve ) Libby their childern were Emily, Martha, Amelia Jane, Margaret, Hannah, Mary, Mercy and Keziah Libby. His father was Luke Libby and his mother was Dorothy. His wife's father was William Meserve and her mother was Margery D. Ering.

Daniel Mann was born on Feb. 25, 1770, he was a Sergeant in the Corps State Artillery, his allowance was $66. dollars a year and had received $330. dollars, was placed on he pension rolls on Oct. 17, 1817, commencement of pension was on Feb. 17. 1815, ending of pension was on Feb. 17, 1820.
