Edwin Ruthven Havens.

Birth: May 25, 1842, Stafford, Genesee County, New York. 
Death: 1931, Michigan. 

Born at Stafford Genesee County New York, May 25, 1842; Enlisted at Buchanan, Berricn County Michigan September 12, 1862, as a private ( Mustered in as a Sergeant ) in Company A., 7th., Michigan Cavalry, promoted to First Sergeant October 25, 1863, and to Secord Lieutenant May 25, 1865; Mustered out at Fort Leavenworth Kansas December 15, 1865; final mustered out and discharge at Detroit Michigan, December 28, 1865, and honorably discharged.

Son of William C. and Celestine (Snow) Havens. Married Eliza Ann Stewart, Dec. 1871. Known children: Lucia, Lida A., Coral R., Charles Edwin, Maribelle, Edna, George S., and Roscoe Russell Havens.

For many years Edwin Havens was deputy State Land Commissioner.

Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Lansing, Ingham County, Michigan.
