Those Who Drowned From New York Regiments.

Here is a list of a few regiments that New York soldiers drowned from of couse this is not all the regiments I just pick a few.

FIRST INFANTRY
DRUMMY, JOHN.—Age, 34 years. Enlisted, October 11, 1861, at New York; mustered in as private, Co. C, October 11, 1861, to serve unexpired term of regiment; drowned, June 4, 1862, from Steamer Hero, en-route from Newport News to White House.

LARY, PATRICK.—Age, 26 years. Enlisted, April 22, 1861, at New York; mustered in as private, Co. B, April 23, 1861, to serve two years; transferred to Co. E, May 8, 1861; accidently drowned, August 1, 1862, at Harrison's Landing, Va.

SIXTH INFANTRY.

ARMSTRONG, AZEL.—Age, 42 years. Enlisted, April 25, 1861, at New York city; mustered in as private, Co. D, April 30-, 1861, to serve two years; reported, August 31, 1861, to have been drowned, May 13, 1861, at Staten Island, N. Y.

CARROLL, THOMAS.—Age, 28 years. Enlisted, April 25, 1861, at New York city; mustered in as private, Co. E, April 30,1861, to serve two years; drowned at: sea, June 11, 1851, en-route to Fort Pickens, Fla.

LYNES, PATRICK.—Age, 29 years. Enlisted, May 22, 1861, at New York city; mustered in as private, Co. H, May 25, 1861, to serve two years; drowned, June 17,1861, from steamer, between New York and Fort Pickens, Fla.

LOHMANN, FRANZ.—Age, 29 years. Enlisted, April 23, 1861, at New York city; mustered in as private, Co. D, April 23, 1861, to serve two years; drowned, May 21, 1862, in James River, near Newport News, Va.

WALAN, JOHN.—Age, 28 years. Enlisted, August 12, 1861,at New York city; mustered in as private, Oo. G, same date,to serve two years; transferred to Co. H, September 26, 1861; drowned, August 13, 1862, on transport " West Point," near
Aquia Creek, Va.; also borne as Whalan.

WARREN, ALBERT.—Age, 25 years. Enlisted, April 23, 1861, at New York city; mustered in as private, Co. I, May 1, 1861.to serve two years; drowned, June 5,1861, by falling from transport going from New York to Newport News, Ya.; also borne as Tobias.

A, November 8, 1861; captured in action, July 13, 1863, at Donaldsonville, La.; returned to company, August 26, 1863; drowned accidentally, January 8, 1861, at Bayou Boeuf, La.

DUMPHREY, PATRICK.—Age, 37 years.. Enlisted at East New York, to serve three years, and mustered in as private,Co. H, October 29, 1861; transferred to Co. K, April 1, 1863; drowned, January 3, 1861, at Bayou Boeuf, La.

GERHARD, HENRY.—Age, 26 years. Place, date of enlistment and muster-in, as private, Co. C, not stated; drowned in Gunpowder Creek, Md., May 8, 1865.

LORD, ALYIN H.—Age, 21 yeara Enlisted, September 30,1861, at Nineveh, to serve three years; mustered in as private,
Co. E, October 28, 1861; promoted corporal, no date; re-enlisted as a veteran, February 20, 1864; drowned, January 7, 1866, at Hawkinsville, Ga,, while crossing Ocmulgee Ferry.

NICKERSON, ALEXANDER.—Enlisted at Port Hudson, to.serve three years, and not mustered in as colored cook, Co. K, June 1,1863; drowned, January 3,1864, at Bayou Boeuf, La.

QUINLAN, JEREMIAH.—Age, 19 years. Enlisted at New York city, to serve one year, and mustered in as private, unassigned, August 5, 1864; drowned, March 31, 1865, at sea, off Cape Hatteras, N. C, by burning of steamer " General Lyon."

DROWN, MELVIN.— Age, 22 years. Enlisted, December 11, 1863, at Plattsburgh; mustered in as private, Co. H, December 16, 1863, to serve three years; drowned, December 22, 1864, on United States transport North America.

FLOOD, DANIEL F.—Age, 44 years. Enlisted, September 26, 1863, at Olens Falls; mustered in as private, Co. K, November 10, 1863, to serve three years; drowned December 22, 1864, by foundering of steamer North America, in Gulf of Mexico; veteran.

GIBSON, JOHN.—Age, 25 years. Enlisted, July 28, 1863, at Glens Falls; mustered in as private, Co. A, August 15, 1863, to serve three years; drowned, June 1,1864, on board transport.

GORDON, LAWRENCE.— Age, 18 years. Enlisted, October 14, 1863, at Plattsburgh; mustered in as private, Co. H, October 16, 1863, to serve three years; drowned, December 22, 1864, on United States transport North America.

JULIERT, ALEXANDER.— Age, 20 years. Enlisted, December 18, 1863, at 'Sixteenth District; mustered in as private, Co. I, December 21,1863, to serve three years; appointed bugler, date ,not stated; died, December 20, 1864; drowned at sea.

FOURTH PROVISIONAL CAVALRY.
