Walter Harrup or Harrop, Second Rhode Island Infantry.

There is not a lot of information here but those looking into this line will find the information helpful.

Walter Harrup or Harrop, he is listed under both spellings.  Enlisted July 9, 1863, Co. K., Second Rhode Island infantry.  He was from England was transferred to Co. A., Veteran organization.  In the official records it states he was wounded near Fort Stevens D. C., July, 1864, in the left eye severely.  In the regimental history it states that he was wounded July 12, 1864, at Brightwood, and was in the hospital on the date of muster out.

Authors note.  Brightwood, D. C., is the home of Fort Stevens.
